Pancake day always involves a lot of fun and this year was no different. Thank you to 'T', showing us how to flip a pancake and to Dot for showing us how not to. We love you both and you made us laugh.
We love the Daily Sparkle. It's a great way to have a chat about things that we had all completely forgotten about. Do you remember collecting Green Shield stamps? And then there's the Poppit beads that were such a thing in the 1950s.
Our weekly baking club has become a firm favourite with the residents and we've enjoyed the spoils! We've had lovely mince pies and gingerbread biscuits, fabulous cakes and gorgeous cupcakes. All agreed that the butter icing was extremely hard work though albeit good for the muscles.
We now have our own in-house first aid trainer. A big thanks to Holly Higgs for a great session in the Parrots cafe.
Big thank you to S&K Music, Steve and Kate Grant, for fabulous singing and entertainment for the Xmas party. It's been great that you've been able to come throughout 2021 and been happy to adapt how we do things to keep everyone safe. Thanks!! A great sing-song was had by all! Merry...
Big news this week! Joan won the Christmas card competition! This was a competition open to anyone in care in Devon. Well done Joan. You are a winner.
This is the most stunning doll's house and it's been created by one of our residents. She kindly let me take some photos to share with everyone. The detail is just amazing! #dollshouseminiatures...
Are we scary? Noooooo, not really. Far too caring and lovely to be scary. #funincarehomes
A busy week.....well done to Joan for completing the 4th knitted baby hat for premature babies in hospital! Thanks to Pat, our large collection of craft bits and pieces is now very tidy and we can find everything. We're getting ready for Halloween, lots of pumpkins and bats starting to appear...
Our star award for August was awarded to Ingrid. "For going above and beyond to ensure all the needs of the residents are met, following up any tasks that need completing, and for being a great support to her colleagues". Thank you and well done. You really are a star!
