Kim Underwood has recently been appointed manager. She has many years of experience in the care industry including elderly and dementia. We are proud of the dedicated team of staff at Court House many of which are extremely experienced and all staff are well qualified to provide for the needs of those in our care.

The Home employs 12 Care Assistants, 6 Senior Care Assistants, 2 Cooks, 1 Activities Co-ordinator, 3 Domestic Staff, 1 Handyman/Gardener and a Finance Administrator. The Home’s staff are selected for their qualities of reliability, integrity, skill, friendliness and professionalism. They are carefully screened and references are always checked thoroughly. During induction all staff are trained in line with the new Care Certificate based on 15 standards which individuals need to complete in full before they can be awarded their certificate.
Existing staff are also undertaking this training as a refresher to their existing qualifications.
The Home has a programme of NVQ/QCF training with both on-line and in-house training. Regular fire safety training and manual handling is carried out within the home. Courses include:-
- Manual Handling
- Health and Safety
- First Aid
- Dementia awareness
Marcus Lyward & Lorna TurnerOwners
Marcus Lyward and Lorna Turner are both actively involved within Court House and have between them many years’ experience in business, with Marcus having run care homes for over 25 years and Lorna being a qualified business adviser and having set up a number of different businesses over the years. Marcus works at the Home full-time and would be happy to meet with family members, prospective residents and professionals. Marcus and Lorna care deeply about the home and place the well-being of its residents and staff at the heart of the business.
